Mark's 2004 Trip on the Talimena Scenic Byway

A Tour of the Arkansas - Oklahoma Border Region

When:  May 5, 6 & 7, 2006 (Friday afternoon to Sunday)

Where:  Riding on the Talimena Scenic Byway and other nearby roads.  Route maps will be added soon.

Lodging:  You are responsible for your own accommodations. 

UPDATE 2/24/06 -- You may still be able to find a room at Queen Wilhelmina Lodge, but rooms are reportedly scarce.  Due to that fact, we are relocating ride HQ to Sun Country Inn (877) 394-7477 in Mena, AR.  As of this afternoon, they still have plenty of rooms for the weekend. 

2/19/06 - There are only two deluxe rooms (jacuzzi suites) available at the lodge for Friday night (5/5/06).  There are six regular rooms (sans jacuzzi) available for Saturday night.  Thus, we'll be transferring our Weekend Headquarters to another location.  I'll have the details shortly.

Book a room at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge or camp in Queen Wilhelmina State Park.  Other options are available in Mena, AR.

SAG:  I'm looking for someone who would be interested in driving a SAG vehicle.  Maybe you want to ride a little and wouldn't mind driving a little.  Whatever, let me know if you're interested.

Schedule of Events:

Friday, May 5 - 3:00 pm - Meet in Jansen Park (downtown Mena) for a relaxed 30 mile romp through the area.  This will be a great route to stretch your legs and see some beautiful areas off the beaten path.  (Map - Profile)

Saturday, May 6 - 8:00 am - This is the premier ride of the weekend.  Our new and improved 64 mile route will include a few more convenience stores than last year and a little less traffic.  (Map - Profile)

Sunday, May 7 - TBD - If you're still ready for more action, I've got a great 50 mile route that will surely stretch your legs.  (Map - Profile)
